Abingdon 9-8. From what was told to me, 2 fine ballclubs put on a show. The wind was terrible, carrying everything. I think we'll be in good shape.
what about abingdon and kelly?

Central Warriors. Respect the past, embrace the future
wonder if abingdon will be able to knock off virginia high this season? i went to one of the va. high/abingdon games last year. both teams were solid, but there's a clear cut division between abingdon and the bearcats.

The difference this year will be pitching. Va. High is loaded in pitching while Abingdon appears to be a little slim. Justin Grimm rejoins the staff after missing all of last year after under going Tommy John Surgery. He has worked hard and has went through intense physical therapy. He is getting serious looks from D1 programs. He visited Georgia last week and has trips coming up to UT and Auburn, also alot of pro attention. He DOES throw in the low 90's. This could be a good year for a run at another state title.
Call it like you see it
Who's the hard throwin lefty for VA High?
Cheering for Twin Springs is like cheering for the Taliban
Abingdon had a quality team last year, ending the regular season with an 18-2 record. I'm not exactly sure how they did in the play-offs. They beat Group A State Runner-up Grayson County twice, beat Castlewood twice also. I think Virginia High was the only team to beat them in the regular season. Seems like it broke a streak of 3-4 consecutive Highlands crowns for Abingdon. I think most of their key players return. Abingdon-Virginia High should be another great match-up in the last year of the Highlands district.
yes abingdon was good last year and should be again this year, but there is a clear cut division between the two programs of va high & abingdon. i'll one of the first in line to see them play this year. i forgot about grimm coming back this year. i saw him either as a freshman or sophomore and he was solid then.

I wouldn't necessarily say there is a clear-cut division between the two. Maybe over the years you could say that since VHS has 5 state titles, but Abingdon has closed the gap in recent years. Abingdon did win the Highlands in 2004 and 2005, with VHS winning three close games last year over the Falcons. Both have sent plenty of kids on to the college ranks.
Hear are a couple of links to the baseball teams at each school.
Abingdon
Virginia High
those are both pretty nice websites. especially va high's. i actually check them both fairly often.

They lost 6-3 to Dan River in the playoffs. Two of the times they lost to Va High it was only by one run.
